Legend: The behaviour of the program regarding spontaneous postsynaptic currents was tested using two sets of simulated data, each containing roughly 1200 events.
In the first set, the mini amplitude was fixed at 10 pA and 2 pA RMS white noise was added. The time constant of decay of each mini was 10 ms. The result of the analysis is shown in the 3 upper figures.
In the second set, the mini amplitude was Poisson-distributed with a mean of 100 pA and 5 pA RMS white noise was added. A sample trace is shown in the middle. The result of the analysis is shown in the bottom three histograms.
